Terms & Conditions

Plain English Summary: We are the architects of your itinerary, not your tour guides. This document explains the rules of using our platform. It outlines how bookings work—whether you are securing a world-famous landmark through our partners or reserving a zero-fee spot with a local indie host. Most importantly, it clarifies that while we connect you to amazing experiences, the actual tours are run by independent operators.

1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to FancyDoing (the "Platform"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website (www.fancydoing.com), including our Itinerary Builder and booking services.

By accessing or using the Platform, whether as a traveler ("Explorer") or a provider ("Host"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services. FancyDoing is operated under the laws of England and Wales.

2. Our Role (The Dual-Marketplace)

FancyDoing acts solely as an intermediary technology platform. We provide a curated discovery engine and itinerary planning tool. We do not own, operate, or control the experiences listed on the Platform.

Our listings fall into two distinct categories:

Iconic Experiences (Partner Products): These are provided by third-party partners, primarily Viator (a Tripadvisor company).

Indie Gems (Local Hosts): These are independent, locally-run experiences listed directly by independent Hosts on our Platform.

3. Bookings, Payments, and Cancellations

Because we operate two types of listings, the booking rules depend on what you add to your itinerary:

A. Iconic Experiences (Viator)

Payments: When booking an Iconic experience, your payment is processed directly through our integration with Viator. FancyDoing does not hold these funds.

Terms & Cancellations: These bookings are strictly subject to Viator's Global Terms of Use and Cancellation Policies (typically a 24-hour free cancellation window, unless otherwise stated on the product page). Refunds for these experiences must be processed according to Viator's guidelines.

B. Indie Gems (Pay at the Source)

Payments: FancyDoing charges zero upfront booking fees for Indie Gems. When you reserve an Indie Gem, you are making a commitment to the Host, but all payments are handled directly between you and the Host at the venue.

Cancellations: If you need to cancel an Indie Gem, we ask that you do so via your Itinerary dashboard as soon as possible out of courtesy to the local Host. FancyDoing is not responsible for any disputes over payments made in person to a Host.

4. Host Responsibilities

If you register as a Host on FancyDoing:

  • You agree to accurately represent your experience, pricing, and availability.
  • You acknowledge that FancyDoing does not charge platform fees for listing Indie Gems, but we reserve the right to remove any listing that violates our community standards, safety guidelines, or receives consistent negative feedback.
  • You agree that you are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary licenses, insurance, and permits required to operate your experience safely and legally.

5. The Itinerary Builder & Third-Party APIs

Our Platform features an auto-routing Itinerary Builder powered by the Google Maps Platform.

Accuracy: While we strive to provide accurate routing and timing suggestions, these are estimates. We are not liable for missed tours due to traffic, transit delays, road closures, or GPS inaccuracies.

Google Terms: By using the map features, you are also bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.

6. Intellectual Property & User Conduct

The "FancyDoing" brand, including our specific "Editorial Design Language" (our curation of typography, mesh gradients, and the Dotted Itinerary Path), logos, and proprietary software, is the intellectual property of FancyDoing.

  • You may not scrape, crawl, or extract data from our Platform for commercial use.
  • Reviews and specific product imagery for "Iconic" tours are the property of Tripadvisor/Viator. All rights reserved.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, FancyDoing shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from:

  • Personal injury, property damage, or other losses sustained during an experience booked through our Platform.
  • The cancellation, delay, or misrepresentation of an experience by a Viator operator or an Indie Host.
  • Any temporary inability to access the Platform or Itinerary Builder.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, regardless of where the Explorer or Host is located globally.

9. Modifications to the Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
